Daily hajri

Hajri app for daily wage workers

Workers mark hajri by looking at one phone kept at the gate. Wages are worked out from the hajri. No paper register and no counting at the end of the month.

Free for up to 10 workers · Works on any Android phone · No credit card

Why the hajri register goes wrong

A notebook at the gate looks cheap, but it costs you money every month.

1
Proxy hajri
A friend writes the name of someone who did not come. You pay for a day nobody worked.
2
Half days are guessed
Nobody writes the time someone left. Half days become full days.
3
Counting takes hours
At month end someone adds up ticks for every worker, and mistakes start fights on pay day.
4
Advances are forgotten
Cash given in the middle of the month is written on a slip and not taken back from wages.

How daily hajri works in the app

Set it up once. About 30 seconds per worker.

1
Add workers and their daily rate
Set Employment type to Daily wage and type the rate for one day, like ₹700.
2
Keep one phone at the gate
Any Android phone or tablet you already have. Register each worker's face once.
3
Workers look at the phone
Hajri is marked when they come and when they leave. No signal? It is saved and sent later.
4
Wages are ready
Pay every Saturday from the weekly wage sheet, or once a month from the payslip.

From hajri to wages, worked out for you

An example for one worker paid ₹700 a day.

Full day = 1 hajri
8.5 hours or a full shift counts as one day. 24 full days = 24 hajri.
Half day = ½ hajri
4 hours or more counts as half a day. 2 half days = 1 hajri. You can change these hours.
25 hajri × ₹700 = ₹17,500
The wage is the hajri times the daily rate. Extra hours after the shift are paid as overtime at double rate.
Advance taken back
A ₹2,000 advance given mid-month comes off by itself. The worker gets ₹15,500.
Weekly wage sheet
For each worker: rate, days, hours, amount earned and advance to recover, with a column to sign. Print it or open it in Excel.
Monthly hajri sheet
The muster roll shows the month as a grid: P present, A absent, H half day, L leave. Keep the PDF for inspections.

Common questions

What is a hajri app?
Hajri means daily attendance. A hajri app replaces the paper hajri register: it records who came each day and works out wages from it.
My workers do not have smartphones. Can they mark hajri?
Yes. Keep one Android phone or tablet you already have at the gate or site. Workers mark hajri by looking at it. Nothing extra to buy.
Can a worker mark hajri for a friend?
No. Hajri is marked by face, and a photo of a face will not work.
Can I mark hajri by hand?
Yes. An admin can type the in and out time, or mark a day as absent, half day or leave. It counts the same way.
I pay wages every week. Does that work?
Yes. Open the Weekly Wage Sheet report for the week and pay from it. The monthly payslip stays the record for PF and ESI.
Is the hajri app free?
Yes, for up to 10 workers. All features are included. See all plans →
