Builders, contractors and interior firms run crews across many sites, pay most workers by the day, and still need PF and ESI.
This guide shows how to set up BizlumoAI for construction and site work: sites on a map, face check-in on one phone kept at the site, daily wage rates, PF, ESI and a cash pay register.
The whole setup in one video (15 min), from sign-up to the first payroll, step by step. Every step below is in it.
Pick Construction / Site as your business type when you sign up. It switches on the right features and makes the usual staff groups for you. You can change all of it later in Settings.
After you log in, a setup checklist stays in the corner of every page. Each step ticks itself when it is done, and clicking a step opens the right page.
Go to Employees and click Add Employee. Type the name, email and a password for the BizlumoAI app. Pick the department and position. The staff group Site workers is picked for you. Site workers are paid by the day: type the rate for one day. Add the rest of your team the same way, or upload them all from an Excel or CSV file.

Go to Worksites and click Add Worksite. Type the name and address of the site, then place the pin on the map. Staff can check in only when they are near it, so nobody marks attendance from home. Add one for every site.

Open the BizlumoAI app on any Android phone or tablet you already have and keep it at the site. Register each person’s face once. After that they check in by looking at the screen. A photo will not work. If the network is weak, attendance is saved on the device and sent later.

Staff check in from the BizlumoAI app on their own phone or on a shared phone kept at the site. The Attendance page shows who came in and when. You can also type a day in by hand: open the person on the Employees page and click Record Punches.

For people paid by the day, set Employment type to Daily wage and type the rate for one day. Pay is then the days they came times their rate. This step ticks itself as soon as one person has a daily rate. To change a rate later, open the person and click Edit.

Go to Payroll → Statutory. PF and ESI are switched on for a construction business. The rates follow the rules: PF is 12% of basic pay, and ESI applies to anyone earning up to ₹21,000 a month. Pick your state for Professional Tax and click Save Statutory Settings.

Go to Payroll, pick the month and click Generate All. Everyone’s pay is worked out from the days they worked: days worked times the daily rate, with PF and ESI taken off. Open any payslip to check it, then download them all, the bank file or the cash pay register.

Go to Admin Users and click Add Admin. Type their name, a username, email and a first password, and pick a role. For example your site engineer. Each role sees only what it needs.
